| xx | David J. Wechsler David Wechsler is an accomplished executive with more than 25 years of demonstrated success in leading organizations through transition, change, and growth. David has a proven history of generating positive financial results for owners and investors through reorganization and process improvement, with a commitment to building extraordinary employee and guest satisfaction.
In his most recent assignment as Executive Vice President at Ohio based Steiner & Associates, David led Steiner Entertainment, a $50MM division focused on developing and asset managing regional attractions, entertainment and hospitality properties. He engineered these unique concepts to create distinct economic offerings within key regional retail complexes. Representative projects include privatization, renovation/redevelopment of the New Jersey State Aquarium complex, re-branding of the Newport Aquarium (both among the top 5 Aquariums in the country), development of the Majestic Theatres in Kansas City, and acquisition/development of the Café Istanbul restaurant group.
Prior to joining Steiner & Associates in 2001, David served as interim executive for two portfolio companies of the private equity firm Walnut Capital Partners, leading the 12 unit Big Sky Bread Co. and one of the first online real estate companies. From 1996 to 1999 he was Divisional President of FGCI, a publicly traded (NASDAQ) consolidator of golf properties. David played an integral role in growing the company from 30 units to 120 units in 36 markets across the United States and Canada. During the 90's he was involved in several start-up enterprises, selling his innovative golf-learning academy to FGCI in 1996. David's previous experience include senior management positions in the advertising industry with strategic control of campaigns for major clients, including the '88 Presidential Campaign (D), Hertz Corp., and Michelin Tire Corporation.
David has always enjoyed the hospitality industry, especially engineering dining experiences that are truly differentiated. He conceived Bimbamboo with his sister Helen, an award winning "tastemaker", chef, concept developer and long time hospitality industry executive. Since their childhood, they both have shared a deep passion for exotic cuisine, cooking and of course, fine wine.
David has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Sociology from Hobart and Smith College. He is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Columbus Zoo and the WAVE Foundation. Having recently moved to Boulder, he has continued contributing his expertise to further community development as a board member of the Prospect HOA, Highland City Club member and as an advisor to The DaVinci Institute.
